TN Class 10 Public Exams to be Held in June
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu School Education Department’s announced on 12th May that Class 10 examinations will be held from June 1 amidst the uncertainty that is going on in the state. The school education department is now busy preparing the halls for the 10th standard board examination for which the hall tickets would be issued to the candidates after May 18, K A Sengottaiyan the Education Minister said on Friday.
The Tamil Nadu state government is in its fourth phase of lockdown and the state government has not taken any final call on lifting the lockdown yet. The lockdown announced as of now ends on 17th May. Sources say that the government is planning on phase lifting the lockdown, in this situation it is unclear how it would be possible to conduct public exams in schools.
If the exams go ahead as scheduled, more than 10 lakh students will have to travel to their schools from their places of stay, and about a tenth of these will be in the Chennai Metropolitan Area.
It is expected that there will be announcement on students to bring their own masks to protect the spread of Covid-19 in the exam centres. Mr. K. A. Sengottaiyan, the School Education Minister has informed that the government would issue a statement on 19th May regarding the transportation arrangements that will be done during the exams.
